More notes on the Supreme Court. Ketanji Brown Jackson has been going through the Senate's confirmation/approval process this week. She, of course, is President Biden's nominee to replace Stephen Breyer when he steps down this Fall.
Ms Jackson would become the first black female justice to sit on the Court. That makes her different from the other justices. There are things that make her different and things that make her the same.
She is a graduate of Harvard University Law School. Justice Breyer is also a Harvard Law alum. All the justices went to private law schools - most to Harvard, some to Yale and one to Columbia.
She did not go to Catholic High School; six of the present nine did. She'll sit with seven justices who have worked as corporate lawyers. Interestingly, she spent several years as a public defender. No other current justice has that on their resume'.
I don't know much about the lady or her qualifications but I do hope the process is handled in a manner befitting her position - Washington could use a little class and decorum for a change.
