RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

THIS N THAT

It's September 1.  You know, "septem" is the Latin word for seven.  So now you ask, "Why is the ninth month called the seventh?"  Well, that goes way back to when March, named for the Roman god of war, Mars, was the first month in the Julian Calendar.  This is also part of the story why February has fewer days than all the rest of the months.  Maybe, I'll explain it all at a later date.  For now, you can just blame it all on Pope Gregory XIII.

Last week, it was made known that Shia LaBeouf, 36-year-old actor, had converted to Catholicism.  It is an interesting story which you can read on https://www.ncregister.com/blog/lessons-from-the-conversion-of-shia-labeouf

There are quite a few companies that will create a synthetic diamond from human ashes after cremation.  It can be a bit pricey but for those who want to wear a loved one on their finger, wrist, ear lobe or nose, this could be just right.  Just google "cremation diamond".

It may come as a surprise to you, if you are a player, that 'wordle' is actually a word with a meaning which is not related to the game.  Also, note that it is a six-letter word.
