INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence Day

July 4, 1776

How we treasure our independence - at all levels.  Truth is - we are always dependent on someone or someone is dependent on us.  That is the human experience.  Be good to those who depend on you.

On the other hand, it is wise to release those who depend on you - in a gradual manner; at the right time.

So today we celebrate our independence from another country.  Parades, Fireworks, Picnics, Hot Dogs!  Hot dogs?  Don't miss the annual Nathans hot dog eating contest today at Coney Island in New York.  Joey Chestnut will attempt to continue his dominance of the contest since 2016.

Nathans would like you to think that the national food is the hot dog.  Well, not so fast.  Check out these facts:  "Americans consume the equivalent of about 100 acres of pizza every day of the year."  "The equivalent of nine out of ten Americans have eaten a pizza in the last month."

Whatever you do today, be safe and do the crazy things in moderation.
