RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

LANGUAGE

I learned a new word today, i.e. EMESIS.  I like it.   It's more mysterious than many alternatives.  If you don't know what it is, look it up.

My wife knew the word.  She's a lot smarter than I sometimes give her credit.  Of course, she picked me.  Even smart people make a booboo once in a while.

Investigating 'emesis', I was introduced to more words I never heard of .  If you get past 'emesis', you could also look up 'eructate', 'micturate', 'borborygmus' and 'sternutate'.  Be aware that the next time we meet, I may use one of these in our conversation and I'll expect you to know what I'm talking about.

Don't worry, if you don't know or remember what they mean, I'll accept your osculation.
