This week is the last full week of 2024.  Here's the news.

The U.S. congress played around with creating some kind of stopgap legislation that would allow it to continue with all it's work.  They did it in the end and the government's work will go on until March 14.  Let's hope they figure out a new plan before then.

In college football, Notre Dame topped Indiana, Ohio State beat Tennessee, Penn State knocked off  and Texas wacked SMU.  Next week, Penn state meets Boise State,  Ohio State will play Oregon, Notre Dame will meet Georgia and Texas goes up against Arizona State. 

The FAA banned the use of drones flying near sensitive sites in New Jersey.  That'll show 'em.

The State of Arizona has allowed a charter school to be taught by AI (artificial intelligence) instead of teachers.  I wonder who will control the kids in the cloak room.

Starbucks baristas are on strike for more coffee money.  It all started on the coasts, of course, but is filtering into the central States.  Could their coffee cost any more than it does now?

A Saudi doctor ran his car at high speed into a busy holiday shopping area in Germany and killed at least five people and injuring over 200.  Not sure why  

The FDA has approved an obesity medicine (Zepbound) for use in controlling obstructive sleep apnea.  Lose weight and sleep better and live longer.  Sounds good.

NETFLIX is moving into the live sports spotlight.  They handled the Tyson fight, this week a couple NFL games and have signed to handle the Women's World Cup in 2027 and 2031.

President-elect Trump has stated his interest in taking control of the Panama Canal, making Canada part of the USA, buying Greenland and putting a large bunch of Cryptocurrency into our nations pockets. !!

Our Navy accidentally shot down one of our Navy fighter planes in the Red Sea area.  Pilots survived.

Israel has been pounding the Houthi in Yemen after they fired rockets into Tel Aviv.  The Jews don't mess around.

An egg found in a British grocery was almost perfectly round.  It sold at auction for $250.

Joe Biden commuted the sentences of 37 federal death row inmates.  

Kilauea volcano erupted on Hawaii - the Big Island.  

Santa made it all around the globe.

After beating the Browns last week, the Bengals are still alive (just barely) and meet the Denver Broncos today.
