THE GUITAR

It is so neat to be able to play a musical instrument. Its something I wish I could do. It will likely be a dying wish. I'm lucky I can play the radio.

My son plays guitar and I've developed an outsiders interest in it because of that. Here is a list of the best guitarists I've ever heard.

10.) Stanley Jordan - The jazz guitarist who can make one guitar sound like two.
9.) B.B. King - A blues/rock guy who hits every note clearly
8.) Les Paul - When I was a kid we had records by Les Paul - he was the best backup guitar in Nashville for many years. He was the singers choice. He developed the modern electric guitar.
7.) Steve Vai - both of the guitars in 'dueling guitars' in the movie Crossroads
6.) Robert Johnson - the man who really sold his soul to the devil so he could play the guitar -
Crossroads was written about him - he was a blues man who influenced all the modern day blues/rock guys - he's in the R&R Hall of Fame
5.) Eric Clapton - smooth and clean and sweet - only the best were part of Cream
4.) Jimi Hendrix - he could make it talk - if he never sang I would make him #1
3.) Stevie Ray Vaughn - respected by everyone in the business
2.) Eddie Van Halen - the hard rocker's rocker
1.) Andres Segovia - the father of the classical guitar
